Whether someone is having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, sleeping difficulties can heavily impact their life. We all experience times when we can’t sleep because we’ve got lots on our minds, that’s common but nonetheless exhausting, and frustrating. I help people with sleeping problems let go of worry, stress, and anxiety and address any other issues preventing them from getting a great night’s sleep.
Ruminating thoughts can have a major effect on quality of sleep. I help my clients understand that their thoughts become reality, so they can actively work towards changing that reality into something positive, uplifting, and healthy. Not only do I help my clients improve their emotional health but many aspects of their physical health too. Emotional pain is often expressed through the body, so I work on improving patterns of thought so that the body is affected positively as a result.
If you’ve been routinely convincing yourself that you can’t sleep because your stressed, worried, and anxious, your thoughts will be racing and your mind will do everything it can to make that your reality. Stress, anxiety, and relaxation issues are good examples of this, they are your mind and body's response to the beliefs you hold about yourself and a way of protecting you from a fear of letting go.
Repeated negative thoughts will demotivate you and give rise to an even more powerful ‘inner critic’. This inner critic will keep you exactly where your mind tells it you want to be – alert and apprehensive. Now for some good news, although the mind resists change, it is brilliant at learning through repetition – tell it something enough times and in the right way and it happily recodes itself to the new instruction. That’s an aspect of the mind that I take full advantage of during my Rapid Transformational Therapy™(RTT™) and Hypnotherapy sessions when treating clients for sleeping problems.
