Science has proven that 95% of diets are ineffective.
Why? Because they focus on the wrong thing! Category: Disordered Eating Conditions: Food / Diet, Weight Problems, Eating Problems Back to What We Treat Does hypnosis work for weight loss and weight control? Yes. Hypnosis is an incredibly powerful tool for weight loss because it allows you to take a deep dive into your subconscious mind and the real reasons behind your weight control issues.
The subconscious mind is the place where the very root of people's traumas, addictions, habits, or any other kind of behaviour, tends to be buried. And since COACHD Hypnotherapy opens a doorway right to your subconscious, you too will be able to address your issue right at the root of it and experience powerful, permanent change.
Making smarter and healthier food choices and exercising are obvious components when trying to lose weight, and you should not ignore them. But in some cases, maintaining long-term success with your weight means ridding yourself of the deeply rooted emotional and subconscious beliefs that have been sabotaging your weight control efforts this whole time. That is precisely where our Rapid Transformational Therapy™(RTT™) and Hypnotherapy for weight loss and our COACHD Method Coaching™ sessions for weight management come in and why our treatment is so effective.
Trigger behaviours can be when a person habitually reaches out to eat junk food after a stressful day. It comforts them in some way, which is why junk food is also referred to as comfort food. One such trigger can be a feeling of loneliness or not feeling loved. COACHD Hypnotherapy for weight loss can help release these feelings in a profound and healthy way. Not only does COACHD Hypnotherapy combine hypnosis to help you lose weight, but it also helps you wire in powerful new feelings of strength, health, control, and confidence that can benefit you across other areas of your life. How does hypnosis work for weight loss and weight control? It may come as a surprise to you, but your subconscious mind is very comfortable with where you are right now, in terms of your body. This is referred to as your homeostasis, and it’s one of the main reasons you keep sliding back to your old eating habits and your old weight.
Another name for your homeostasis is your ‘comfort zone’. This comfort zone is the point at which your mind and body consider themselves to be safe and ideally placed. It is all your mind has known for a very long time, and since your mind resists change, because change may equal danger, it will do everything it can to maintain this comfort zone.
Breaking your mind and body’s homeostasis is not a quick fix. In fact, it is an emotionally laborious process that requires you to work with your subconscious mind and change your psychology. The good news is that when you start to work on the root of your problem at a subconscious level, then almost automatically your conscious actions will begin to correspond and align with what your subconscious is ultimately trying to achieve, such as achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.
COACHD Hypnotherapy will help you identify certain behaviour triggers that you may not even be aware of and disarm them so that you can break the chain that is binding you to your weight control issues. Uncovering your secondary gains with Hypnosis Another thing to consider is that every behaviour you do is because you personally feel like you gain something from it. Whether it makes you happy or brings you some sort of joy or comfort, your mind sees these feelings as positive gains.
But not all gains are created equal and not all gains are obvious. Because of this, it is important for you to understand what your secondary gains are when it comes to your weight control issues. These secondary gains may be contributing significantly to your struggle. COACHD Hypnotherapy will help you identify your secondary gains and how they are influencing your eating habits.
Of the two types, the most obvious one is called ‘primary gains’. These are the ones you can knowingly identify, like a sense of guilt for missing an important work or social event due to not feeling ‘up to it’, followed by a medical diagnosis that supports your excuse, and now you don’t feel so guilty.
Secondary gains on the other hand are the ones you have no idea you are after. Like not attending a job interview because you didn’t prepare for it. In this case, missing the interview gives you a secondary gain which is a ‘sense of safety’ because not attending the interview also means you can’t fail the interview. What are weight-related secondary gains? Everyone has their own unique reasons for why they are putting on weight or believe they can’t lose weight. Aside from genetic factors, there are other deeply ingrained psychological factors, such as those secondary gains. A secondary gain is usually the reason why you believe you’re doing everything possible to lose weight but it’s still not coming off.
A secondary gain is a secondary subconscious reason that you’ve given yourself for keeping your weight on. For example, not wanting to attract attention to your sudden weight change and just wanting to blend in and go by unnoticed. Another more common reason is when someone has been labelled as overweight or fat during their childhood and early development years. These people grow up self-identifying with the overweight or fat label, which because of the constant reinforcement has become part of their belief system. Now if they change their bodies and lose weight, they risk losing that identity and a sense of who they are. It can be very hard for someone to consciously let go of this identity part of them.
With that in mind, the reason why COACHD Hypnotherapy works so very well with weight loss is that it helps us identify your secondary gains so that you can see the role they are playing in your eating habits and let them go. Is weight loss hypnosis the fastest way to lose weight? We are more than happy to say “no”. There is no magic elixir in weight loss hypnosis or any other weight loss treatment. Clearly, the fastest way to lose weight would be to starve yourself, combined with extreme exercise, one or both of which put you at serious risk of illness, injury or worse. Sustainable weight loss requires long-term effort and commitment on your part, and that is something that will never change. However, weight loss hypnosis can massively increase your chances of achieving your weight loss goals and sustainable long-term weight control.
Weight loss hypnosis is an incredible tool for helping you tackle and take control of a problem that you’ve been struggling with for years. An issue like this usually points to something deeper than just poor eating habits.
Hypnosis gets your mind in a highly relaxed and open state, from here we can help you find the root cause of your weight-loss issues so that you can free yourself from the beliefs, thoughts, feelings and actions that have forever sabotaged your weight-loss goals. COACHD clients can achieve powerful long-lasting results after just one to three sessions of our Rapid Transformational Therapy™(RTT™) and Hypnotherapy for weight loss. What is Rapid Transformational Therapy™ for weight loss? COACHD Rapid Transformational Therapy™(RTT™) is a therapeutic method we use to investigate and address the root cause of what is preventing you from achieving your weight-loss goals. Once we’ve determined the root cause of your issue, your core belief, an expert COACHD RTT™ therapist will help you reframe the current relationship that your subconscious mind has with food, creating powerful eating habits and a healthy new relationship with food.
Here’s an example of a root cause in action. Imagine that during childhood a parent or carer constantly scolded you for your bad behaviour and banned you from eating sweets. Following each incident, you behaved well for a week or so and as a reward, you got your sweets back, and you feel good again. Over the years this positive reinforcement of your good behaviour by being rewarded with sweets results in you craving comfort foods whenever you feel bad or naughty.
So, you can see from the above example why it’s crucial for an expert COACHD RTT™ therapist to investigate and interpret the root cause of your damaging relationship with junk food or other patterns of disordered eating. Having this knowledge and understanding we can then help you eliminate the beliefs and habits that have been a detriment to you in everyday life. We then help you install positive new beliefs that trigger powerful patterns of thought and behaviour so that you can live your best life and become the person you truly want to be around food. What are the long-term benefits of hypnotherapy for weight loss? Where COACHD Hypnotherapy and hypnosis really help is in the long run. COACHD Hypnotherapy will help you shed weight and keep it off. COACHD Rapid Transformational Therapy™(RTT™) and Hypnotherapy makes the long-term effects possible because it helps you address the root and reason for your eating behaviour and not just what is visible to you on the surface. Not addressing the root cause of someone's disordered eating is why they, like many others, end up yo-yo dieting their whole life. They do so because there is a bigger underlying issue that they haven't investigated and are therefore unaware of. Simply put, you can’t fix what you don’t understand.
Forcing yourself into a restrictive diet won’t work and can often have the opposite result. This is because when you deny yourself something, by nature your mind and body will want it more. Fortunately, there is hope for your weight control future. Hope for a healthy new relationship with food and the life you deserve.
